We proudly launched the Falls Prevention Alliance Australia on Tuesday 21 October 2025. The launch brought together passionate advocates, experts, and community leaders united by a shared goal: to prevent falls in older Australians.

We were thrilled to see such strong support, with attendees joining both in-person and remotely from across the country. Thank you to everyone who took the time to be part of this important milestone. View photos below.

United for change

The launch marks the beginning of a growing movement. Together, we’re calling for stronger national action to prevent falls, one of the leading causes of injury and hospitalisation among older Australians.

We were honoured to have representatives from many organisations in attendance, including the Heart Foundation, Council On The Ageing (COTA) NSW, Rotary, Older Women’s Network NSW, Injury Matters, SHARE, National Ageing Research Institute (NARI), Public Health Association of Australia, University of Melbourne, Diabetes Australia, Australian Frailty Network, Australian & New Zealand Hip Fracture Registry, Rehabilitation Medicine Society of Australia and New Zealand, and the Australian and New Zealand Society for Geriatric Medicine.

A special thank you goes to our Rotary attendees, David Barnes, Bob Barnes, John Oomen, Natalie Tolhurst, and Amanda Barnes, who travelled long distances to show their support.

We were also delighted to have online hubs joining us from around the country, including the University of Melbourne, University of Tasmania, Injury Matters (Perth), Calvary Bruce Private Hospital (Canberra), Princess Alexandra Hospital (Brisbane), Batemans Bay Hospital, Lismore Rotary Club, and Hunter New England LHD (Newcastle).
