Falls Prevention Alliance Australia was formed in 2025 following a roundtable involving key stakeholders, health professionals, and community members, who are focused on collaboration, evidence-based strategies, and policy action.
The alliance was launched to:
-
Advocate for policy change
-
Promote evidence-based intervention
-
Foster cross-sector collaboration
Our mission is to reduce the incidence and impact of falls in older people across Australia by uniting members to drive collective action, promote evidence-based interventions and advocate for policy and systems changes that enhance fall prevention.

The goals of Falls Prevention Alliance Australia include:
-
Influence national and state policy, advocating for the development and implementation of a national falls prevention strategy.
-
Foster a coordinated and cross-sectorial approach to falls prevention through consistent messaging, resource sharing and collective action among members.
-
Promote and support the implementation of best practice, evidence-based fall prevention interventions across health, community and aged care settings.
-
Coordinate communication and media activities to raise awareness of the impact of falls on individuals, families, communities and the economy.
The Falls Prevention Alliance Australia brings together members from a wide range of multidisciplinary backgrounds, all united by a shared commitment to reducing falls and protecting the wellbeing of older Australians. Its steering committee is composed of distinguished experts and passionate community representatives from across the country, providing strong leadership and vision. Alongside them, the Alliance’s two working groups—Policy and Advocacy, and Awareness—are powered by dedicated community members who care deeply about this issue and are driving practical action to create safer, healthier futures for all.
